Direct Support Professional
$17.50/hour

We are actively hiring Direct Support Professionals to join our dedicated team. The purpose of this direct care position is to maximize the independence, skills, and self-esteem of the individuals we serve. This position provides direct care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role of the Direct Support Professional offers exciting opportunities for creative and structured engagement with our clients. You will watch them grow as individuals while they gain independence and confidence in themselves through your teaching process.
Although no experience is required, ideal candidates will possess understanding, patience, and a willingness to be a team player. If you have initiative and are self-motivated, this position may be perfect for you. Experienced Direct Care Workers, as well as CNAs, LPNs, PCAs, Teaching Assistants, and Para professionals are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills are imperative and you must be comfortable engaging and interacting with the people we serve, their families and colleagues.
Body mechanics and strength requirements are needed when working with and assisting individuals utilizing wheelchairs, gait belts, lifts or mat work.

Driver

Riverside Industries, Inc. is actively seeking qualified Van Drivers to join our dedicated team. You will transport individuals with disabilities between their homes and our program in Easthampton, MA. This position is an integral role to Riverside Industries’ 50+ year old mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live rich and full lives. Help start and end our clients’ day with a smile! Establish interpersonal relationships within the communities we serve – you can make a difference!
Ideal candidates will be comfortable driving in all New England weather conditions. You must possess compassion, understanding and a willingness to be adaptable. Previous van driving experience is preferred but not required. Our well maintained fleet of vans and transportation hub are located in Easthampton, MA and our vans serve the entire Pioneer Valley area. There are additional physical requirements for this position in assisting our clients with safe entry, secure travel and exit off of vans, as needed.
Shifts:
10 hours/week or 20 hours/week.Split shifts available: 6:30/7:00am – 9:00am AND/OR 2:30pm – 4:30/5:00pm. Weekdays ONLY – no evenings or weekends.
Requirements:
- Must be 19 years or older with a valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to pass a RMV Record with minimum 3 years of driving experience
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment CORI, drug screen, physical exam and fingerprinting
Payroll Clerk
Riverside is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team and support our mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live rich and full lives! Position Name: Payroll Clerk
Department: Administration
Hours: 40 hours/8:00-4:30p.m.
Status: Full-time (non-exempt)
Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
The responsibilities of the Payroll Clerk include but are not limited to:
- Manage compensation packages using Paylocity payroll software and other related software platforms
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into payroll software.
- Process weekly payroll and run related reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave codes, non-taxable wages, etc.
- Investigate, resolve and reconcile any payroll discrepancies
- Reconcile payroll bank statements
- Review and maintain time off records through payroll system; maintain any required manual time off records.
- Maintain department spreadsheet detailing client attendance ratios for use in preparation of UFR preparation
- Open and oversee Riverside’s reception area and duties each morning (approx. 2hours each morning) – answering 6-line telephone, direct calls to staff in-house and in the field, take messages, greet visitors and direct to appropriate company personnel, assist job applicants with obtaining necessary pre-hire documents, and open and distribute incoming mail and interoffice correspondence, communicate details of 911 alerts to President and Directors and assist with procedures for Riverside emergency drills, as required and assigned.
- Serve as backup to positions in the Administration Department

We are actively hiring a Job Developer/Vocational Counselor to join our dedicated team. The purpose of the Job Developer/Vocational Counselor position is to develop jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and autism by involving them in their career plans, employment search, and job site assessment, and to market Riverside Industries, Inc.’s Employment Services to prospective employers and businesses.
The role of the Job Developer/Vocational Counselor is to develop jobs by involving employees in their career plan, job searches, resume writing, application completion, and interviews; facilitate Vision Meetings; write Vision Statements; and compile Job Matching data, including but not limited to job education classes.
The Job Developer/Vocational Counselor position requires effective marketing, communication, interpersonal, organizational, liaison, instructional, problem-solving, writing, and decision-making skills. The Job Developer/Vocational Counselor must be able to handle and confront difficult situations and be professional in various public settings. The Job Developer/Vocational Counselor must have an understanding of people with disabilities and integration issues.
The essential functions of the Job Developer/Vocational Counselor position include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate prospective jobs and gather sufficient information to make employment decisions
- Develop and coordinate Individual Placements and Group Supported Employment sites
- Expand existing employer partnerships
- Serve as Benefits Counselor to people we support as to maximize their income and medical insurance; complete relevant SSA forms and submit to SSA office and interpret individual SSA information
- Coordinate with Employment Supervisors to secure volunteer sites as well as volunteers for the Community Based Day Services program.
- Effectively market Riverside Industries, Inc.’s employee pool to prospective employers through cold calls, networking, responding to DET’s online postings, and other recruitment strategies.
- Maintain a database for placement sites and statistics
- Ensure and protect the privacy and human rights of the people the agency supports by adhering to HIPAA, DDS, and agency policies.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental goals and objectives.
The knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities of the Job Developer/Vocational Counselor include, but are not limited to:
- Effective marketing, communication, interpersonal, organizational, liaison, instructional, problem-solving, writing, and decision making skills are required
- Ability to handle and confront difficult situations and be professional in public settings is a must
- Prior working knowledge and understanding of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and integration issues is needed
- Must be 21 years old, have valid driver license, as well as registered, inspected, and insured vehicle
- Minimum of one year experience in Sales, Marketing, or a related field plus two years’ experience working with people with disabilities is required.
