Meet Artist Tony S.
Tony Sadlowski has worked at Riverside Industries since 1976. Before the art program existed, Tony made drawings on scrap cardboard using #2 pencils, ballpoint pens, and magic markers. With access to instruction and a broader range of materials, Tony’s artwork blossomed.
Now, Tony eases towards retirement. He takes his time with a single artwork developing it with details and layers. The materials available to him have been upgraded to canvases and acrylic or oil paint. The subjects of Tony’s art have remained consistent.
Tony’s love of trains, trucks, and all forms of heavy machinery take front stage in his art, but he has also branched into new ideas, such as scenes from his favorite movies, farm scenes, and things he witnesses as he travels.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Tony’s art is the way he can depict something he has seen. After intently observing traffic going by on Cottage Street, Tony can then reproduce, accurately and in detail, something he saw, currently many construction vehicles and machinery.
Tony’s talent and ability in art has earned him respect and admiration throughout the community. The excitement that he experiences in pursuing his art, and his steadiness in meeting new challenges presented through art, enrich his life, along with the lives of all who experience the work of this remarkable artist.
